The FX3000i from AND Weighing offers 3200g with 0.01 gram readability. This is the NON NTEP version so if you are needing a Class II NTEP Approved Legal for Trade Balance for a Colorado retail marijuana smoke shop you need to buy the FX3000iN.
If you require a Legal for Trade electronic balance for your Colorado cannabis dispensary and was told to buy the FX-3000i the correct model is the FX-3000iN. The FX3000i and FX3000iN to most people look exactly the same but they are different. If you purchase the FX3000i and think you can fool the Weights & Measures Inspector it is a very slim shot. The Legal for Trade version FX-3000iN cost slightly more money since there is a special sealing plate, sealing screws and marking that the balance is NTEP Approved. The FX-3000iN can be sealed by threading a wire security seal through two screws on the RS-232 serial interface plate and scale housing. This prevents access to the calibration switch inside the device which is required to meet the requirements for a Legal for Trade weighing device. Watch this You Tube Video to understand the difference between the FX-3000i (NON-NTEP) and FX-3000iN (NTEP Approved).
The FXi Series comes standard with RS-232C interface for bi-directional communication with a PC, printer or other peripheral devices. When purchased with the optional AD-8121B printer you'll be GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO Compliant. In accordance with GLP and LIMS regulations, the balance ID number and calibration data can be printed out using AND Weighing AD-8121B or a PC. There is an optional FXi-02 USB Interface, but it is only uni-directional. Most people want bi-directional so they can send and received data from the balance. When the FXi-02 USB Interface is installed you must remove the RS-232C interface.
An optional FXi-11 large breeze is available if you are weighing in an environment that is less than ideal to prevent air currents from causing the balance pan from moving, which results in fluctuating readings. By protecting the balance weighing platform with a draft shield a stable constant mass reading can be observed. This shatterproof breeze break has an antistatic coating and can be opened from the right and left side and also through the top.

In the video above we show you the excellent eccentric loading characteristics of the Sartorius Entris Balances. See as a calibration weight is placed in the center of 4 quadrants on the platform how the Sartorius Entris measures the weight accurately. Not all digital balances weigh accurately and if you own a laboratory balance other than Sartorius we doubt it compares to the Sartorius Entris. If you own an older Sartorius balance or someone tries to give you a deal on a used or discontinued Sartorius balance just forget it and buy the Entris.
To test eccentric loading we place a weight on the center of the weighing platform and record the weight. Now place the same item in 45-degree directions (front left, front right, rear right, and rear left) and compared to the measurement at the center. Compare the weighing results and if you have eccentric errors it just might be time to retire that balance and purchase a new Sartorius Entris.
