The Sartorius AY612 has been discontinued by Sartorius and NO longer in production. The replacement is the Sartorius Practum 612-1S but this is a much more expensive digital scale and the Sartorius Practum does not operate off of standard alkaline batteries. The Sartorius Practum 612-1S (8.6 x 14.1 x 3.75 in) is also a much larger scale verses the AY612 (7.4 x 10.4 x 3.1 in) thus limited its use as a portable field scale.
Beware of anyone trying to sell you the AY612 since the manufacturer warranty has ran out and there are no parts and accessories available from Sartorius. There are plenty of other alternative models available and if you need help give us a call. We just despise seeing some people selling AY612 to people as brand new when you are buying a scale with NO WARRANTY and NO AVAILABLE parts or accessories AVAILABLE FROM SARTORIUS. Don't be hoodwinked stay away from the AY612 and always buy a current production model.
The information on this web page is for reference only since again we have no remaining stock on the AY612 and Sartorius has terminated production on the AY-612 as of January 2013.
Sartorius M-Prove series are ideal balances and scales for Educational, Industrial, Laboratories, Research, Postal, Special Applications and more. Whether weighing multiple samples with totaled results, formulating a color, counting, percent weighing, specific gravity or under pan weighing, Sartorius has the answer in M-Prove. All models feature a flip-down protective cover for safe transportation and stackability, integrated cal-weights, stainless-steel pan and large back-lit display.
Sartorius owned Acculab and shut down the brand in Dec of 2010. The AY612 by Sartorius is the exact same balance as the the Acculab VIC612, except they changed the color of the plastic from gray to white, changed the overlay keypad and changed the display slightly and, of course, raised the price. This model AY612 educational balance also replaces the Sartorius ELT602 scale.
Superior Engineering for Better Performance and Durability
The ultra-fast microprocessor gives enhanced weighing performance and exceptional stability. All M-Prove series sensors are robotically manufactured for measurement uniformity and greater durability, and each sensor is computer optimized for maximum performance, providing higher output and unmatched repeatability. These M-Prove milligram balances have incomparable overload protection for years of service in all weighing applications. The display on each scale is a white back-lit display for easy viewing in all ambient weighing conditions.
Unique State of the Art Features
All M-Prove series milligram scales are stackable for convenient, safe storage that saves valuable counter space. They have an integrated weight chamber, which simplifies calibration and the reversible weighing pan allows greater flexibility in weighing samples.
In all there are 13 models of scales (enhanced by two milligram units). The rugged housing is made of ABS plastic with maximum overload protection, and the protective flip-down and removable plastic cover is great for protection of the scale in shipping and stackable storage. The balance comes with integrated external calibration weights on models with capacity of 710 grams and below. Applications include: Counting, Percent Weighing, Totaling, Display Hold, Specific Gravity. The 14 Mass Unit Conversion units of measure include grams, ounces, pounds, pounds:ounce, pennyweight, troy ounces, grains, Newton, carats, Taels HK/Taiwan/Singapore/China, user defined. This M-Prove weighing balance comes with such accessories as optional RS-232 or USB interface kit (field installable),and an AC adapter (or optional 9 volt battery operation excluding milligram models). The external "one button" calibration has 3 weight options. The scale also has lock-down capability, with glass ring, leveling bubble and adjustable feet included on all milligram models.
The MyWeigh i601 is a nice alternative to consider if you are looking to replace a broken AY412. In the video above see the MyWeigh i601 and how to calibrate this digital scale. The i601 now has an LCD display with additional weighing modes like lbs, dwt, oz, tael and more.
The AND Weighing EJ610 is a nice alternative to the AY612 if you are looking for a low cost digital scale that can be purchased with an optional USB interface. The A&D EJ610 portable electronic scale from AND Weighing offers similar features to the Acculab Vicon and Sartorius AY and comes with a longer warranty. EJ digital scales from A&D Weighing are packed with laboratory weighing features and we highlight these in the above youtube video.
