MyWeigh i11000 Digital Scale is an extremely affordable low cost, digital scale, offering a whopping 11,000 grams weighing capacity that increments in 0.1 gram graduations. A balances with similar specifications like the Sartorius CPA10001S costs more than a thousand dollars more, but it is like comparing apple to oranges.
The big difference is in the weigh mechanism that senses the weight thus providing better performance and accuracy. The Sartorius CPA10001S uses a magnetic force restoration weigh cell verses the Myweigh i11000 incorporates a strain gauge. If you have the money we will always tell you to buy the Sartorius but when money is an issue the Myweigh i11000 might just do the job.
Precision Weighing Balances has tested the ibalance 11000 and when considering the price of this scale we were impressed. We absolutely recommend that you either already have 10 kilograms of calibration weights or purchase the scale with the calibration weights we offer as a package since you really need to calibrate the scale prior to using this scale.
Straight out of the box the i11000 displayed 10006.4 grams when we placed our 10 kilogram calibration weight on the weighing pan. This means in scale talk the scale was off by 64 divisions(6.4 grams), which is a lot but again one must remember the price you are paying for the i11000. One would expect the scale to be off since the scale is made in China and acceleration of gravity is different in China verses the USA. You can learn more about why scales should be calibrated at the place of use here.
We found after turning the scale on for 1 hour and calibrating the scale that it was accurate to ± 0.3 g over the full range of the scale. You should always allow the scale to be plugged in and turned on for at least 1 hours to allow the strain gauge to adjust to the temperature change when power is supplied to the load cell. The stabilization time was somewhat slow around 5-6 seconds, but again for the price of the i11000 this is an impressive high capacity scale when you have limited funds.
MyWeigh iBalance 11000 High Capacity Precision Scale
This My Weigh digital scale is great for the educational market that does not require split second stabilization times and accurate readings to 0.1g (from our testing 0.3 graduations). When economic demands a low cost the i11000 fits the bill but when extreme quality, speed and accuracy are required we recommend the GP12K.
