The Sartorius CPA2P micro balance has been discontinued and no longer in production. The replace model is the Sartorius MSA3.6P0TRDM microbalance. We have no remaining stock on the Sartorius CPA2P and all information displayed herein is for archival and support purposes only.
Affordable and easy to Use Microbalance - Sartorius newest microbalance combining
affordability with precision in the micro ranges for the 1st time. Sartorius
innovative CPA Series body style incorporating the highly advanced mechatronic
monolithic weigh cell technology yields fast, repeatable, stable and accurate
Polyrange allows high resolution (0.5g) with heavier tare containers.
The Polyrange offers greater readability for smaller sample weights. Here's
how it works - In the high resolution mode and your weighing samples between
0 to 0.5 grams the CPA2P display will increment in 0.001mg intervals. When
the capacity on the platform is in the range of 0.5 to 1g the display resolution
will increment in 0.002mg intervals. Finally if your weighing samples
1 to 2 g the display resolution will increment in 0.005 mg intervals.
So as the weighing capacity increase the display resolution decreases.
No matter how the balance is used the total cumulative weighing capacity on
the weighing platform can never exceed 2 grams.
Standard built-in motorized calibration weight insures the greatest precision
at a touch of the button. If the ambient temperature fluctuates outside of a user-defined
range or after a preprogrammed time interval, the isoCAL function will automatically perform internal
calibration and adjustments at regular intervals with consistently high accuracy. Unique all glass
draft shield with smooth-action doors makes using the CPA2P fast and easy to use. The special stainless
steel filter pan and rotatable cover virtually eliminates static electricity
and enables faster loading of filters. Tactile keypad, standard RS-232 interface
for connection to a Sartorius Printer, PC or automated system. Large (0.65
inch) easy-to-read backlit display with extra large digits lessens the chance
of recording an incorrect weight. Built-in application programs include
counting, percent weighing, net-total formulation, animal weighing and mass
unit conversion by toggling between 2 units. Professional laboratory weighing
with new standards in design & performance is here.
Installing a micro-balance should be in quiet, temperature and humidity controlled, draft-free location is of paramount importance. Finding a location in cleanroom can many times be challenging due to laminar air flow. So before even considering purchasing a high precision laboratory balance you should consider the area you want to install the microbalance since if your environment is not ideal you don't have a defective microbalance but a defective environment. You can read more about selecting a location of your lab balance here.
A solid balance table or marble slab is recommended to eliminate the surface the microbalance is installed on to prevent bending and any flexing. The weighing table should also be decoupled from the environment with an additional layer of shock-absorbing material such as rubber or cork to lessen sensitive to shock and vibrations. Wooden tables have some degree of flexure and typically unsuitable to attain repeatable consistent weighing results with a microbalance. Marble tables should not only have a marble top but also marble legs and these tables typically weigh several hundred pounds and cost well over $1000 and installation and freight will also be costly. Please consider these issues are additional costs and many times required for the microbalance to perform to the capabilities of the precision weighing instrument.
Low humidity conditions tend to promote static electricity and causes havocs with your weight readings. Air conditioning removes moisture from air and can be one of the culprits to your static issues. Weighing samples in plastic, glass or Teflon containers can also contribute to static issues. We offer a large selection of disposable microbalance weigh dishes and always recommend the use of these aluminium pans to lessen the chance static can affect your weighing results.
