The EPB-20001L offers 20000 grams weighing capacity and the scale increments in 0.1 gram divisions with a large 7.8" x 8.5" weighing platform. Everything you need for basic weighing tasks plus parts counting and percent weighing - ideal for formulation weighing applications when recipes are given in percentages. The toploading scale is simple to operate and comes with large LCD display for maximum ease of reading the weighing results. Operates on AC Adapter or batteries allowing for weighing flexibility even in the field collecting samples when an AC power receptacle is not available.
Rugged ABS housing, heavy duty load cell, leveling bubble, 4 adjustable feet, removable stainless steel weigh platform, multiple weighing modes, RS232 interface. Bright backlit display makes viewing fast & easy in any lighting. You can program the backlit to always be ON, always OFF, or when a weight is applied to the weighing platform the backlit automatically turns ON. Changing weigh modes by simply pressing the "UNIT" keypad and you have the choice of 13 different weigh modes - grams, ounces, pounds, and many more weigh modes.
Calibration is easy but it does require you to purchase or already have calibration weights. Again calibration weights are NOT INCLUDED and we really highly recommend you calibrate the digital scale on a regular basis since the weigh sensor is a strain gauge and it is really stretching the limits of the capabilities of a strain gauge. You do have the ability to configure the digital scale to use any weight up to the weighing capacity of the scale, but we recommend a minimum of 50% of the balance's weighing capacity - therefore 5000 grams or greater.
This affordable digital scale incorporates a strain gauge loadcell which allow the price to be low compared the AND GP20K or GF-20K. Don't expect this $300 scale to perform like a $2800 balance. Although the scale increments in 0.1 gram graduations for strain gauge scale you need to look at the linearity(aka accuracy) in the specification table. The EBP20001L linearity is stated at ±
5d. "d" states for division(what the display increments in). Since the EPB20001L increments in 0.1 gram divisions you could expect the digital scale to be accurate to ± 0.5 grams. To achieve this performance you need to have the scale level using the 4 adjustable feet, calibrated and have the scale should be plugged in for at least 30 minutes - strain gauge scales have warm up times otherwise you will really see the scale drift or people sometimes describes it as the display numbers are creeping when nothing is add/removed from the weighing platform. We really don't recommend buying a strain gauge scale because even if you set up the digital scale correctly and do everything right a strain gauge loadcell performs poorly when weight is added or removed slowly from the weighing platform (weight loss/gain over time). Be sure to review this youtube video for a better understanding - "Magnetic force restoration (MFR) balance verses strain gauge digital scale".
Some people might say why are you selling something you don't recommend buying and it is simple - people want a cheap answer and they don't care what you have to say but they are not going to spend THOUSANDS for a real MFR balance like the A&D GP20K or GF20K. The scale manufacturers have listened to the marketplace and the EPB-20001L isn't the only strain gauge scale. Other similar strain gauge scales include the Myweigh i11000, Adam PGL20001, Sartorius SIWRDCP-V8 Signum and there are others.

Simple 5 button keypad with sprint leveling bubble indicator to facilitate level digital scale using the four (4) adjustable leveling feet
The EPB-20001L digital electronic scale housing is made from high performance ABS plastic to ensure durability and long life. Large 7.8" x 8.5" removable stainless steel weigh pan for easy clean up. The scale design incorporates a 4 post platform for better weighing results especially with corner weighing. Many other brands are designed with only a single post in the center resulting in greater eccentric weighing errors. You can determine how much the eccentricity of the load will affect the weighing results on the scale by weighing the same weight at the corners of the weighing platform. The 4 post design has a greater manufacturing cost and this is why many of the major brands of scale manufacturers cut corners to maximize their profits while diminishing your accurate weighing results.
