We have NO remaining stock on the Acculab VIC-303. The information listed below on the VIC-303 is for reference only for those people researching the specifications on a VIC303 scale they already own.
Acculab is a victim of deleveraging and the brand Acculab has terminated production on December 31, 2010. Yes - Acculab DOES NOT EXIST in 2011 since Sartorius decided to shutdown the Acculab brand name. The Acculab VIC-303 was resurrected as the Sartorius M-Prove AY303. The Sartorius AY-303 is really the same scale with a different color plastic housing and now more money since it is sold under the Sartorius brand.
Acculab is owned by Sartorius and Sartorius Mechatronics decided to streamline the company brand name holdings and eliminate the Acculab brand. Acculab Vicon Series are now replaced by the Sartorius M-Prove Series.
For those customers that can not wait we offer many alternative models which are in stock. Nothing we offer will be priced as low as the Vicon since the VIC-303 is designed
with strain gauge weighing technology. Strain gauge sensors drift and although the display might increment in one milligram graduations they are not accurate (aka linearity) to a milligram. The Adam PGL303 is another strain gauge milligram scale. To get away from a strain gauge load cell we recommend the more costly magnetic force restoration weigh cell found in milligram balances like the Sartorius AZ313, A&D FX-300i or Scientech ZSP350. Although theAZ313, FX-300i or ZSP350 cost much more money they are designed with a magnetic force restoration weigh cell offering superior weighing results over a strain gauge based scale.
Acculab VIC-303 [300g x 0.001g] operates on AC Adapter ONLY, features a 4 inch
diameter stainless steel weighing pan with round glass draft ring and comes with
the calibration mass. The VIC303 scale offers so many new
features to the predecessor VI3-mg. Built in Arvada,
Colorado and backed with a 2-year parts and labor limited factory warranty!
The Acculab VIC-303 is a low cost milligram scale since it's weigh cell is built
using strain
gauge technology. The strain gauge can give you good weighing results
for weighing static loads, but drift much more due to temperature variations
caused by excitation energy used with a load cell strain gauge weigh sensor.
You do get better performance, linearity and repeatability with an electromagnetic
weigh sensor like those found in the A&D FX-300i or Scientech ZSP350 but this weigh sensor design cost more money. If you're on a
tight budget and your weighing results aren't for a super critical application
then the Acculab VIC303 might be your best choice.
Whether weighing
multiple samples with totaled results, formulating a color, counting, percent
weighing, specific gravity, or under pan weighing, Acculab has the answer in VICON.
