The CPW is designed with 4 load cells providing spectacular repeatable results.  This design lessens readings that fluctuate when the weight of the parcel does not have the load evenly distributed. Numerous platform shipping scales, many of which are sold in the office supplies stores, use only one load cell in the center of the platform.  This design uses 4 levers that transfer the force applied to the platform to a tiny single load cell in the center.  This design depends upon multiple fulcrum points.  Having additional moving parts increases the chances of failure.  The arms can easily bend if the load applied to the platform isn't properly centered on the scales.  The Adam CPW eliminates all these possible failures by implementing 4 individual load cells which is more expensive way to build a scale.
