Since the GD603 was released, a new and improved balance has become available and offers a much better value for the money.
This new analytical is the GD503 and we have them in stock and ready for immediate delivery.
Unlike the GD603, a Sartorius GD503 is legal for trade, which is required by jewelers looking to weigh their gems and sell jewelry by weight.
Aside from the NTEP approval, the GD503 offers 100 g x 0.0001 while a GD603 weighs 121 g x 0.0002 g. That's right, you get twice the accuracy and will spend less money
when you select a GD503 from Sartorius.
We have no stock on the GD603 and this would be a special
order requiring 3 to 4 weeks to get from Sartorius. We do keep the GD503 in stock so you might want to place an
order for this balance instead if you need something faster. The
GD503 increments in 0.1mg while the GD603 is only to 0.2mg.
The GD-603 is the ultimate analytical balances for the lapidary marketplace.
Another applications could be specialty pharmacies in compounding medicine (always
check with your pharmacy licensing board since requirements vary from states
to state but at 0.2 milligram readability the GD-603 offers even greater readability
for many states). The GD-603 comes standard with a bi-directional RS-232
interface so you can connect the balance to an optional Sartorius
Printer or your computer for a paperless data collection application.

At no time can the total mass on the platform exceed the weighing capacity of
the balance, no matter what balance you purchase. Therefore, if you had
a pan weighing 10 grams and you place it on the weighing platform, pressed the
tare button, the GD-603 would then display 0.0000g. You would now have
111 grams weighing capacity left (121 - 10 = 111g.)
The GD-603 produces steady readings using the high stability mode and the unique
Sartorius weighing system even if the environmental conditions are not ideal
for precision weighing. The Double Lever System, or DLS, for short based
on its special force transmission design. With this patented system, Sartorius
sets the technological standards for the new millennium. Just like
the proven monolithic systems in Sartorius' CP
Series and Master
proSeries balances, this new "small" system is cut from a single
block of a special, highly rugged aluminum alloy using high-speed 21st century
milling technology. The double lever principle offers two decisive advantages:
the design in the area of the pan linkage is highly resistant to mechanical
stress and therefore has exceptionally high mechanical stability, and the system
is about half the size of the monolithic block cell, allowing for a smaller
footprint. Like the monolithic weigh cell, it is cut from a single block
of aluminum and no screw fasteners are needed between functional parts.
This keeps the system less sensitive to fluctuations in temperature, and with
fewer parts there is less chance of failure.
The Monolithic DLS system offers unbeatable advantages for daily use like Incredibly
fast response time and Unfailing reliability and near-zero susceptibility
to interference. The reasons for these considerable advantages are
two fold: the number of individual parts has been reduced by more than 70% and
the mechanical construction has been designed to last for years of trouble-free
operations.
