What is the scale's TRUE readability in Legal for Trade mode? The EK-600i is 600g x 0.1g. Caveat Emptor many jewelry scales on the market might read to 0.1 gram, but are LFT only to 1 gram. Other precious metal scales might read to 0.01g, but they are only LFT to 0.1g and offer very little weighing capacity. If the Weights & Measures Inspector know their job you should expect to weigh down to only what your scale has been approved for weighing. If you look at a CofC the inspector will only allow you to weigh to the the tolerances based on “e” not “d”. The EK-600i offers 600 grams weighing capacity and the scale is LFT over the entire weighing range by 0.1 grams.
Another factor to consider is how does one locked out the scale and put it into service as a Legal for Trade Scale. The A&D design is very simple and easy. A&D designed the scale with a removable door on the back of the scale that the Weights & Measures Inspector simply puts a wire through and crimps.
Everything sounds great about the EK-600i but we are honest here at www.balances.com and we have to say we hate that the EK-600i does not run off of standard batteries, but instead you must buy A&D special NiMH Battery Pack for an additional $140.00. Yep it is crazy in a day when you can go buy 4 - AA NiMH rechargeable batteries at Walmart for under $20 A&D designs their scale so you can only use their $140 NiMH Battery Pack.
EK-600i Legal for Trade Digital Scale is a great scale, but the EK1200i is an even better buy if you want double the weighing capacity HERE.
