High-performance 4100 gram weighing capacity and 0.01 gram precision at a surprisingly affordable price. The GF4000 requires the purchase of the optional external calibration weight to perform calibration. Conforms to GLP, ISO and Lims. Outputs ID and serial number to a computer or the optional AD-8121B Printer.
The AND GF4000 is external calibration. When the balance is first installed or when it is moved to another location, it should be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. We always recommend you purchase an optional external 4kg calibration weight so you can perform the external calibration. Calibration is simply a press of the "Cal" button and then placing the external 4000g calibration weight on the weighing platform. Another option is to upgrade to A&D GX4000 with motorized internal calibration weight.
Every location in the world is positioned differently to "magnetic north" and therefore the acceleration of gravity is slightly different. In addition, barometric pressure effects the acceleration of gravity depending upon your location's altitude to sea level. This is why the user manual always states to calibrate the balance prior to weighing.
High performance and quality is shown with a 5 year manufacturer warranty. Review the manufacturer warranty from other manufacturer's and you'll see their warranty is a lot less. Plus if you ever need repair A&D Weighing has two facilities in the USA located in Georgia and California for fast turn around.
GF4000 can be purchased with the optional GX11 draftshield with three sliding glass doors allows for easy access from the right, left or top. If you are weighing in an environment that is less than ideal this shield prevents air currents from causing the balance pan to move, which results in fluctuating readings. By protecting the balance weighing platform with a draft shield a stable constant mass reading can be observed.
If you prefer to buy a balance that comes standard with USB interface take a look at the Practum 3102-1S or Quintix 5102-1S. The A&D GF & GX Series come standard with a serial RS-232 interface and there is an optional GX-02 USB interface, but it is only uni-directional. Most people want bi-directional so they can send and received data from the balance, with A&D you can only send data when purchased with GX-02 USB.
Are you working in a pharmaceutical lab and need to comply with stringent FDA requirements and must comply with SQmin? Be sure to review Secura 5102-1S since none of the A&D GF models allow you to enable SQmin nor additional safety weighing features like the ability to program the minimum weight value so when you attempt to weigh samples below a set threshold the weight reading is displayed on screen in red. Secura is one of the world's most technologically advance weighing instrument we offer and also has built-in level verification, password protection, and memory tracking is also available. The Sartorius Practum, Quintix and Secura all feature a touch screen user interface for easy balance configuration.
If the GF4100 is too expensive for your budget we have other alternatives. The FZ/FX5000i will cost you less money while giving you greater weighing capacity. If you need a precision balance with 0.01 gram resolution, take a look at the AND Weighing FZ-5000i (5200g x 0.01g). The FZ5000i has internal calibration which means there is no need to purchase expensive calibration weights. If you want to spend less money and prefer external calibration take a look at the FX-5000i.
In addition, the A&D FXi/FZi series comes with an RS-232C interface for bidirectional communication for weight measurements transferred to an optional printer or computer. Plus AND's WinCT data acquisition software data communication software works with either the FXi or FZi balance. Other manufacturer's charge you $100's more for either their balance communication software or a third party software, but with the A&D you can download WinCT balance software free. There is also an optional FXi-08 ethernet interface or FXi-02 USB interface available at an additional cost if you prefer not to use RS232 to transfer data from the balance to your computer.
Want to save even more money the new Sartorius ENTRIS4202-1S and ENTRIS6202-1S delivery superior value and spectacular performance.

offers all the spectacular features of the GX-Seriesexcept the internal motorized
calibration feature has been removed. Therefore, the
GF4000 laboratory balance has the samedisplay, features,
ip-65 rating, SHS technology except
there is no internal calibration mass.
9000 procedures favor the calibration of balances with an external
certified calibration mass. A balance with internal motorized
calibration weight is a nice feature, but costly. Most
balances with the internal calibration feature also offer external
calibration. External calibration is vital since it is
much more convenient to send out the external calibration mass
for recalibration/certification verses the costly fee of having
the internal calibration mass removed from the balance and sent
out for re-calibration.
addition, if you own several of the same balances just one external
traceable calibration is needed for ISO compliance.
Weighing Balances always recommends that you purchase the calibration
mass with any balance you select. This allows you
to calibrate the unit yourself without requiring the services
of an outside calibration firm. Best
of all calibration couldn't be simpler. Connect the AC
adapter and warm up the balance with nothing on the weighing
pan. Then simply turn "ON" the balance, allow
the balance to go through the power-up routine and then press
and hold the "CAL" until "CALout" is displayed.
The display walks you through the cal procedure in less than
1 minute. The entire cal is controlled by the user-friendly
keypad. The days of opening the balance and tweaking those
potentiometers and trim resistors to calibrate a scale are gone
with the advent of the digital circuit and EPROM technology
first implemented by A&D Engineer's.

Before you make your final selection be sure to see the neW ENTRIS4202-1S since we have special promotional pricing on the Entris4202-1S allowing you to buy it for A LOT LE$$ than the GF4000. The AND GF4000 is a great precision balance, but people are always calling for available lower cost equivalent and the Entris 4202-1S is something you should review.
Watch the review of the FX-3000i from AND Weighing. The FX-i is the economy model A&D Weighing offers for those customers not willing to pony up the money for the AND GF Series. The FZ-i is the economy model A&D offers for those customers not willing to pony up the money for the A&D Weighing GX Series. The A&D FZ-3000i might be an option if the GX4000 precision balance is too expensive for your budget.
Before you make your final decision for purchasing your next precision laboratory balance be sure to see the Sartorius Entris Series. Lightening fast weighing results, high-contrast backlit LCD and a spirit bubble located to the left of the weighing display so you know your balance is level to measure optimum accuracy. Combining affordability with a versatile design the Sartorius Entris is the affordable standard for precision 2 decimal place weighing.
Take your pick either motorized internal calibration with the Sartorius Entris3202i-1S, 4202i-1S or 6202i-1S lab balances. Want to spend a lot less and willing to give up motorized internal calibration then review these Entris balances that are external calibration only - Sartorius Entris3202-1S, 4202-1S or 6202-1S. These Sartorius Entris hundredth of a gram balances offer a large 7.1" square weighing platform. See the quick settling time as we place calibration weights on the weighing platform.
Sartorius Secura Laboratory Balance offer advanced weighing features compliant with the USP minimum sample weight requirements. The balance's display indicates when the minimum sample weight is below the required minimum weight limit.
Secura guarantees high reliability and security in regulated areas for the most common weighing ranges. Sartorius Quintix is convenience in operation, calibration and data transfer. Even Sartorius Practum features weighing technology at the highest quality level.
