610 grams weighing capacity with 1 milligram readability build with one of the fastest weighing sensor in the world - the Super Hybrid Sensor. The A&D GF600 is truly a precision weighing milligram balance at a price you can afford. Made in Japan so you know the quality is top notch. AND weighing backs the GF-600 with one of the longest warranties in the scale industry 5 years. Some other well known Swiss manufacturers only offer a standard 1 year warranty - sure isn't much of a warranty in our opinion. Plus if you ever need repair A&D Weighing has two facilities in the USA located in Georgia and California for fast turn around.
GF600 comes with a short plastic draftshield that can be only accessed lifting the top cover off but this can be replaced by purchasing the optional GX10 draftshield with three sliding glass doors allows for easy access from the right, left or top if your environment isn't ideal. To keep cost low A&D designed the GF600 with the short plastic breeze break, but plastic is prone to create static electricity issues. We always recommend the optional GX10 but this adds over $265 more to the cost of the GF600.
The stabilization time of one second is achieved when FAST is selected for the response rate to read a displayed value after a sample is placed on the pan. Other features include: a data memory function to store up to 40 sets of weighing data; Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) data output using the standard RS-232C serial interface; Large bright vacuum fluorescent display which lets you read the display from wherever you are working, even in a dimly lit area; Comparator Indicators displaying the comparison results; Capacity Indicator, displaying the weight value in percentage relative to the weighing capacity; Hold Function, provided for weighing a moving object such as an animal; Underhook, for measuring density and weighing magnetic materials; Density Mode, for calculating the density of a solid; Reference Card, provided for a quick reference to the balance operation; IP54 level dust & splash; Patented Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS)
A&D Weighing balances equipped with the RS-232 interface can use AND's WinCT data acquisition software data communication software. Other manufacturer's charge you $100's more for either their balance communication software or a third party software but not with the A&D you can download WinCT balance software free.
The AND GF600 is external calibration. When the balance is first installed or when it is moved to another location, it should be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. We always recommend you purchase an optional external 500 gram calibration weight so you can perform the external calibration. Calibration is simply a press of the "Cal" button and then placing the external 500g calibration weight on the weighing platform. . Another option is to upgrade to A&D GX600 with motorized internal calibration weight.
Every location in the world is positioned differently to "magnetic north" and therefore the acceleration of gravity is slightly different. In addition, barometric pressure effects the acceleration of gravity depending upon your location's altitude to sea level. This is why the user manual always states to calibrate the balance prior to weighing. Please scroll down further on this web page and you can see all the available accessories.
If you prefer to just buy a milligram balance that comes standard with an all glass draftshield please consider either the Sartorius Practum 513-1S or Quintix 613-1S milligram balance. Plus the Sartorius Practum and Quintix come standard with USB interface while the A&D GF is a serial RS-232 interface and in today's technological age serial RS-232 is a thing of the past.
Are you working in a pharmaceutical lab and need to comply with stringent FDA requirements and must comply with SQmin? Be sure to review Secura 613-1S since none of the A&D GF models allow you to enable SQmin and additional safety weighing features like the ability to program the minimum weight value so when you attempt to weigh samples below a set threshold the weight reading is displayed on screen in red. Secura is one of the world's most technologically advance weighing instrument we offer and also has built-in level verification, password protection, and memory tracking is also available. The Sartorius Practum, Quintix and Secura all feature a touch screen user interface for easy balance configuration.
We understand purchasing a quality milligram balance is a major capital expense and if you have any questions give us a call and one of our weighing experts can discuss your weighing application and get you the most affordable balance for your weighing needs. Precision Weighing Balances has been selling lab balances online since 1995 and we know balances so well we've been hired by some of the most prestigious law firms in America as an expert witness. Sadly, most of the catalog companies and vendors online have never even turned on a balance and can't answer any questions about how the balance functions.
If price is absolutely the #1 factor in you purchasing a 610 gram balance with 0.001g readability designed with a force restoration magnetic motor then we would recommend you take a look at the newSartorius ENTRIS623-1S

offers all the spectacular features of the GX-Seriesexcept the internal motorized
calibration feature has been removed. Therefore,
the GF600 milligram lab balance has the samedisplay, features,
ip-65 rating, SHS technology except there is no internal calibration mass.
favor the calibration of balances with an external certified calibration
mass. A balance with internal motorized calibration weight is
a nice feature, but costly. Most balances with the internal
calibration feature also offer external calibration. External
calibration is vital since it is much more convenient to send out
the external calibration mass for recalibration/certification verses
the costly fee of having the internal calibration mass removed from
the balance and sent out for re-calibration.
addition, if you own several of the same balances just one external
traceable calibration is needed for ISO compliance.
Weighing Balances always recommends that you purchase the calibration
mass with any balance you select. This allows you to calibrate
the unit yourself without requiring the services of an outside calibration
of all calibration couldn't be simpler. Connect the AC adapter
and warm up the balance with nothing on the weighing pan. Then
simply turn "ON" the balance, allow the balance to go through
the power-up routine and then press and hold the "CAL" until
"CALout" is displayed. The display walks you through
the cal procedure in less than 1 minute. The entire cal is controlled
by the user-friendly keypad. The days of opening the balance and
tweaking those potentiometers and trim resistors to calibrate a scale
are gone with the advent of the digital circuit and EPROM technology
first implemented by A&D Engineer's.
