Mettler JL1503-C/A03 has been discontinued by Mettler and no longer in production. Mettler has introduced a complete new jewelry carat scales and the replacement model will be the JS1603C/A offering a complete new design. The new JS1603C/A will have many more added features like battery powered or AC Adapter, greater application modes including statistics and diagnostics. The new Mettler JS1603C/A also comes with a new feature called "PC Direct" that lets you transfer weighing data to a PC without additional software, but the JL1503-C/A03 do not come with the great feature.

Mettler-Toledo's JL1503-C/A03 features a draft shield and 200 gram calibration mass for external calibration. Other notable features include

JL1503-C/A03 carat scales offer 0.001 g readability when in Non-NTEP mode. Weighing functions supported by this carat scale include basic weighing, piece counting and percent weighing.
