This balance meets the manufacturer specifications and is tested and calibrated by factory
trained Acculab technician prior to shipping to you. The balances have
all the original packing material and operation manual, but the box will show
signs that it was shipped before to another customer. The balance and weigh
pan may have some small scratches that may show cosmetically that the unit's not
brand new, but the balance will perform as a brand new unit. Acculab part of the Sartorius Group classifies
this balance as DQE - Demo Quality Excellent. All demo balances carry
a limited 12 month manufacturer warranty.

just couldn't make it any easier. We could dismantle the
ALC in under 1 minute. The weighing pan, pan support, shield
ring, shield plate and 3 removable glass doors can be placed in
a dishwasher for sparkling clean results. Don't listen to
those local scale companies attempting to sell you a balance at
list price and how you have to buy it from them since they service
the balance. You really can do as much as them.
To ensure consistent accuracy and tip-top performance the ALC
balances can be easily calibrated using the auto calibration function
through the keypad. Auto Calibration requires that you have
the calibration mass. These masses are optional
accessories and we ALWAYS recommend that you purchase
the calibration mass so that you never need
a scale company to service your scale and charge you some outrageous
price.
The Acculab ALC uses the Monolithic
Double Lever System so there are very few parts here.
The electronics incorporate custom designed integrated circuits
resulting in really nothing a local scale company can do to service
a scale. Basically, all they can do is come out with a bottle
of Windex or Fantastik and clean the exterior body of the scale,
the interior glass draftshield, and calibrate the scale.
If there are ever any other problems with the balance other than
calibration then it really can only be serviced by the manufacturer,
Acculab in Arvada, CO, since the motherboard consist of VLSI(very
large scale integrated circuits) and we know of very few scale
service companies with a digital logic analyzer, or the proper
tools to remove and replace surface mount fine pitch components.
Typically the time to resolve a board problem is best solved by
just replacing the whole board and we feel the manufacturer is
best to make this decision. All Acculab ALC Balances are
made in the USA and backed with a 24 month manufacturer's warranty
for parts and labor under normal use. It looks like advances
in weighing technology and the advent of the internet as a distribution
channel has made the local scale company obsolete.
