The GC2502 has very similar features to the Sartorius
CPA423S but sold for hundreds less. Basically, the gem market place
is extremely price sensitive market sector verses the laboratory marketplace
so Sartorius developed the GC2502 with a special price to meet the pricing requirements
for the jewelry marketplace. Whether your weighing diamonds or chemical
compounds the GC2502 weighs from 0 to 2500 carats (0-500 grams) weighing capacity
in 0.005 carats (1 milligram) intervals. Please note the draftshield is shorter in height measuring only 6.37" (from pan to top of glass door).
The GC2502 produces steady readings using the high stability mode and the unique
Sartorius weighing system even if the environmental conditions are not ideal
for precision weighing. The Double Lever System, or DLS, for short based
on its special force transmission design. With this patented system, Sartorius
sets the technological standards for the new millennium. Patented,
this new "small" system is cut from a single block of a special, highly
rugged aluminum alloy using high-speed 21st century milling technology.
The double lever principle offers two decisive advantages: the design in the
area of the pan linkage is highly resistant to mechanical stress and therefore
has exceptionally high mechanical stability, and the system is about half the
size of the monolithic block cell, allowing for a smaller footprint. Like
the monolithic weigh cell, it is cut from a single block of aluminum and no
screw fasteners are needed between functional parts. This keeps the system
less sensitive to fluctuations in temperature, and with fewer parts there is
less chance of failure.

applications for weighing below the balance includes density determination.

Easy-access, all-glass weighing chamber and easy-to-remove and easy-to-clean
high-grade stainless steel weighing pan. Weighing chamber base plate
is easy to clean because all parts can be simply removed

weigh boat. The triangular weighing pan and wide draft shield allows
you plenty of room. The 2 front adjustable feet make leveling the

All-glass
draft shield has smooth-action doors that open extremely wide. The
large weighing chamber enables fast and reliable positioning of any type
of sample. All parts of the weighing chamber base can be removed,
to facilitate quick and easy cleaning.

GC2502 offers a larger 4.3 inch diameter weighing platform, while the
GC803S and GC1603P
is only 3.1 inch.
Catches
the eye at first glance is the distinctive display. Backlit in blue,
with high contrast and exceptionally large numbers (16.5 mm), it's easy
to read under any lighting conditions. The intensity of the backlighting
can be adapted to individual preferences.
The
GC2502 is designed to be used with the glass draft shield, but sometimes
it's hard to get large items in the weighing chamber. A good example
would be weighing 8" silicon wafers.
