The
Physician's Beam Scale, the scale you find in your physician's
office, provides unmatched accuracy and durability demanded
in the medical profession. The 402KL has all the features
of the 402LB with the addition of patented rotating poise bar engraved in pounds on one side
and kilograms on the other side (click
here to see close-up image). The 402KL also comes
standard with steel measuring rod for height measurements.
Heavy duty steel base and lever system. DURA-TOP platform
cover is easy to clean. Easy to assemble.
Measures
weight up to 500 pounds in 1/4-pound increments or 220 kilogram
in 100 gram increments (most household scales are accurate
only to the pound). A large, easy-to-read measuring
bar with engraved pound increments make weights easier to
read. Unlike many home models, it operates precisely
when used on carpeting. Non-slip, vinyl-covered platform
measures 10 1/2" by 14 inches. Hardened steel pivots
and bearings; heavy-gauge enameled steel base and upright.
The base alone weights only 21 lbs. The entire unit
weighs 50 lbs and ships via Ground for $40.00.
To use the counterweights it works like this:
For 150 lb counterweight only:
If the weight of the patient is between 350 lbs and 424 lbs
- Place the large (lower) poise weight in the
250 lb notch.
- Hang 150 lb counterweight in notch on
lower poise bar between 50 lbs and 100 lbs.
- Weigh the patient normally using the small and
large poise weights.
- To arrive at the patient’s total weight, add the
weights registered on the small and large poises
and add 88 lbs. Refer to the enclosed quick
reference guide to arrive at the total weight.
If the weight of the patient is between 425 lbs and 500 lbs
- Place the large (lower) poise weight in the
250 lb notch.
- Hang 150 lb counterweight in notch on
lower poise bar between 150 lbs and 200 lbs.
- Weigh the patient normally using the small and
large poise weights.
- To arrive at the patient’s total weight, add the
weights registered on the small and large poises
and add 150 lbs. Refer to the enclosed quick
reference guide to arrive at the total weight.
For 40 kg counterweight (402KL only):
If the weight of the patient is between 160 kg and 180 kg
- Place the large (lower) poise weight in the 120 kg
notch (this will weigh 160 kg with the addition of the
40 kg counterweight).
- Hang kilogram counterweight in notch on lower poise
bar between 60 kg and 80 kg.
- Move the small poise weight along the upper poise
bar until the pointer is centered in the trig loop.
- To arrive at the patient’s total weight, add 160 kg to
the weight registered by the small poise weight.
Example: for a patient weighing 172 kg, the large
poise weight will be on 120 kg, and the small poise
weight on the upper bar will be on 12 kg.
If the weight of the patient is over 180 kg
- Place the large (lower) poise weight in the 140 kg
notch (this will weigh 180 kg with the addition of the
40 kg counterweight).
- Hang kilogram counterweight in notch on lower poise
bar between 60 kg and 80 kg.
- Move the small poise weight along the upper poise
bar until the pointer is centered in the trig loop.
- To arrive at the patient’s total weight, add 180 kg to
the weight registered by the small poise weight.

- Maximum-strength, unitized 3/32" steel, low-profile, non-tip
base with steel boxed levers, 3/16" hardened pivots and hardened
"V" bearings.
- Drawn metal head horn/pillar construction with protective
rolled edges, rounded corners and baked enamel finish.
- Dimensions:
57-1/4" H x 10-1/2" W x 20" L
- Warranty: Two years from Health O Meter.
