Health-O-Meter 524KL digital pediatric scale can be used to weigh babies with precision. Similar in design to the older
1524KL except this baby scale features an electronic display. Weigh units include pound:ounces or kilograms
and are dual range for more precise readings at lower capacities. At 0-20 lb the pediatric scale increments 0.2 oz
and from 20-50 lb the 524KL increments 0.5 oz.
Health-O-Meter 524KL baby scales come with an easy to clean, 25" x 13" x 6 3/4" child seat which is more comfortable for
the infant and prevents movement for more accurate readings.
The Heathometer 524KL baby seat scale does require some assembly and we recommend you download the user manual below to see how the pillar, cable and attaching the seat to brackets and secure by tightening the black knobs.

HOLD function allows you to read the weight after removing the baby from the scale platform
AUTO-OFF - Scale will shut off automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity. You can also deactivate this function
Tare Function allows you to place other items on the scale while weighing the

KG & LB LOCK OUT - The stable weight show within 2 minutes. If the user does not press any buttons in this 2 minutes, the scale will

The Health-O-Meter 524KL digital baby scale is their latest model for weighing infants with precision. The dual range resolution give your more precision when weighing babies below 20 pounds. If you were to weigh a newly born infant, your pediatric scale would weigh 20 lb x 0.2 oz, but once you go over the 20 pound threshold, your resolution will decrease to 0.5 ounce graduations, giving you readings at 20 lb - 50 lb x 0.5 oz.
Professional scales for weighing infants can cost over a thousand dollars. Health-O-Meter's new 524KL baby scale is much more reasonably priced, and even offers EMR connectivity via USB port. Please keep in mind that this newborn scale can be connected to an existing electronic medical record system, however the EMR software and configuration is your own responsibility. Precision Weighing Balances does not provide this software or service, and must be done either in-house, or by a company specializing in EMR services.
Transferring the weight of the baby to a computer requires serial communications software that needs to be installed on a computer and does not come with the scale. If you don't have EMR you could purchase WinWedge 32 Standard RS232 software allowing you to export patient's weight into an Excel spreadsheet for ease of documentation.
