Ohaus SP602 is a great digital scale, but we do get calls from people saying they want to buy an American made digital scale (yep, the Ohaus SP602 is made in China) and we do have one available - the Sartorius AY-612. Sartorius is assembled at the Sartorius Mechatronics in Arvada, Colorado. Sartorius makes of some of the world's finest balances since 1871 when they introduced the world's first pharmaceutical balance.  The Sartorius AY612 (610g x 0.01g) offers similar specifications as the Ohaus SP602 and we have the Sartorius AY612 priced for less money than the Ohaus SP602.

For a limited time we are sell the Sartorius AY612 (610g x 0.01g) for a lot less than what we sell the Ohaus SP602. We made a special purchase on the AY612 and selling them so low that the manufacturer won't let us advertise the price. Because our price on the Sartorius AY612 is lower than the manufacturer's "minimum advertised price," Sartorius does not allow us to show you our price until you take further action by placing the item in your shopping cart. It's a no brainer while supplies last the AY612 offers a longer warranty (3 years vs 2 years) for less money than the Scout SP602. Oh and Sartorius has more experience designing and building precision balances than Ohaus. The Ohaus Scout is a great digital scale but this offer on the AY612 make it an unbelievable digital scale.

If price is absolutely the #1 issue and you are in search of the lowest cost 0.01g digital scales then we have a couple of other digital scales that are made in China. These gram scales do not have all the bells and whistles included in an Ohaus SP602, but the price is much less. For our customers seeking a simplified digital portable balance, with less features we recommend My Weigh brand balances. My Weigh's i601 that offers 600g x 0.01g or My-weigh iM01 (1000g x 0.01g) electronic scale still priced much, much less than the Ohaus SP602.

If you are a jeweler or pawn shop and were told by a Weights & Measures Inspector that you need a Legal for Trade Class II Scale the Ohaus SP602 is NOT Legal for Trade and we recommend you purchase the Mettler Toledo JL602-G/LA01 digital scale.
