Ohaus Adventurer AX224 delivers stability, accuracy and fast weighing results. Weigh samples up to 220 grams with sensitivity to 0.0001 gram graduations. The Adventurer AX224 replaces the discontinued Ohaus Adventurer Pro AV264C.
Striking the ideal balance between inventive features and functional, uncomplicated weighing capabilities, the Ohaus Adventurer incorporates all of the applications necessary for routine weighing and measurement activities. With a color touchscreen, GLP/GMP compliance capabilities, two USB ports, ingenious draftshield, and much more, Adventurer is the most complete analytical balance in its class.
Standard Features Include:
Stability, Accuracy, and Fast Operation Ensure Optimal Weighing Results — This trio of characteristics ensures the most important aspects of routine laboratory weighing are covered: accurate results you can count on extremely quickly.
Color Touchscreen & Connectivity Options Power a Modern Weighing Experience — The wide viewing angle color touchscreen provides quick access to all of Adventurer's applications, while dual USB ports with GLP/GMP tracking capabilities assist in the monitoring and reporting of data.
Space-saving Draftshield Improves User Experience and Accessibility — The two piece, top-mounted draftshield doors open wide on both sides, providing ample room for sample placement, and also reduce the footprint of the draftshield in the rear of the balance when open.
The Adventurer AX224 has built in AutoCal enabling automatic internal calibration and does not require external calibration masses. The automatic internal calibration assists with routine maintenance by automatically calibrating the balance daily when it senses a temperature change of 1.5°C or or every 11 hours.
If preferred, the AX224 lab balance can also be manually calibrated with the an optional 50 gram, 100g 150g or 200g external calibration weight. Now you can choose a calibration weight that is closer to your normal weighing capacity ensuring even greater accuracy. Span calibration uses two calibration points, one at zero load and the other at specified full load (span). To change the span calibration point, touch the alternate weight shown on the display. Follow the screen instructions and place the specified calibration weight on the scale when prompted to do so. When complete, the display shows the span calibration status and returns to the current weighing application. All precision measurement instruments should be calibrated when first installed or when the lab balance is moved to another location. For those people that are ISO 17025 and not able to perform internal calibration but only external calibration you can save money by purchasing the Ohaus Adventurer AX224/E.
The Adventurer has a level bubble in a small round window beside the display. To level the balance, adjust the 4 leveling feet until the bubble is centered in the circle. The Ohaus Adventurer AX even has a level assist function where the display shows examples of images and which feet to adjust depending on the location of the level bubble until the bubble is centered. Good laboratory procedures require you to level any laboratory balance each time its moved to a different location since this insures accurate weighing results.
The display features include a weighing capacity bar guide that will show the current weight as a percentage of balance capacity. A real-time clock function keeps accurate time even during power loss and the GLP data capability has the ability to record Sample name, Project names and Balance ID's to help meet traceability and compliance requirements.
Additional attributes include RS232 interface, integral weigh below hook, full housing in-use cover, removable stainless steel pan, die-cast metal bottom housing, security bracket, illuminated up-front level indicator, four adjustable feet, software lockout menus, stability indicator, software overload/underload indicators, user selectable environmental settings, audible indicator, user selectable brightness settings, auto dim, touchscreen calibration, auto tare, user selectable operating language.

In the YouTube Video get a general introduction of the Ohaus Adventurer AX Laboratory Balance.
Ohaus Adventurer AX analytical balance delivers weighing performance with stable and reliable weighing results for routine weighing tasks. The fast stabilization time improves productivity in the laboratory. External calibration allows the operator to manually calibrate the balance with a choice of calibration weight values to ensure accuracy. External calibration does require you to purchase the optional calibration weight.
Space-saving draftshield improves user experience and accessibility. The two piece, top-mounted draftshield doors open wide on both sides, providing ample room for sample placement, and also reduce the footprint of the draftshield in the rear of the balance when open.
Wide door entry provides unobstructed access and allows larger weighing vessels to be easily placed on the pan, reducing the chance of accidental spillage
On the rear of the balance you'll find a built-in RS-232 port to connect either to a computer with a standard (straight-through) serial cable or Ohaus SF40A impact printer. There is also a USB port on the rear of scale to connect to PC only. Note the front USB is used to connect a USB flash driver only.
The bottom side of the Ohaus Adventurer has 4 adjustable leveling feet. The black removable protective cover is the weigh below underhook opening. Shown below is a close-up of the cover removed.
The Adventurer balance is equipped with a weigh below hook for weighing below the balance. Before turning the balance over, remove the pan and draft shield elements to prevent damage. To use this feature, remove power from the balance, then remove the protective cover for the weigh below opening. The balance can be supported using lab jacks or any other convenient method. Ensure the balance is level and secure. Power on the balance, then use a string or wire to attach items to be weighed. Below weighing is used for weighing magnetic materials, large samples that won't fix on the weighing platform or extremely hot or cold sample that would effect the balance's electronics if placed directly on the weighing platform due to thermal heat/cold transfer. Additional applications would be specific gravity determination.
The front USB is used to connect a USB flash driver only. The weighing data can be saved to USB every day. The density determination and check weighing applications can not be saved to the USB.
Setting up multiple balances is simple by exporting the profile from a master balance via a USB drive. The data maintenance tool allows you to save user and application settings to a USB, which can be easily transferred to other Adventurer balances. The data can then be used to configure additional Adventurer balances with the data imported from original balance. Two types of data can be exported Application settings (APW, Ref. weight and etc.) and Menu settings (balance setup function and etc.)
The wide viewing angle color touchscreen provides quick graphical access to all of Adventurer's applications. Touch-sensitive display with touch areas and buttons to control the function of the Ohaus Adventurer AX.
The Touch Menu includes. Calibration: Touch to view calibration options. Balance Setup: Touch to view and change balance settings. Weighing Units: Touch to view and change weighing units. Data Maintenance: Touch to view data maintenance settings. GLP and GMP Data: Insert user data for traceability. Communication: Touch to view COM Device Settings and Print Settings. Factory Reset: Touch to do a Factory reset of menu settings. Lockout: Touch to view lockout options.
