We have NO remaining stock on the Acculab ALC-320.3. Acculab is a victim of deleveraging and the brand Acculab has terminated production on December 31, 2010. The information listed below on the ALC320.3 is for reference only for those people researching the specification on a ALC3203 milligram scale they already own.
Yes - Acculab DOES NOT EXIST in 2011 since Sartorius decided to shutdown the Acculab brand name. The Acculab ALC-320.3 replacement under the Sartorius brand is the Sartorius AZ313 but these are not in stock since Sartorius is experiencing excessive lead times. For those customers that can not wait we offer many excellent alternative models which are in stock. If you can not work with this lead time we highly recommend that you purchase instead either the A&D FX-300i or the Scientech ZSP350 which is in stock.
Beauty in the Balance, Beauty in the Beast - both described the Acculab ALC-320.3 Milligram Balance offering 320 grams weighing capacity with 1 milligram resolution. This milligram balance is a beast since it destroys other balance manufacturers when you compare performance, features and Price $$$. Oh and this milligram balance is built with the Double Lever System (DLS), Electromagnetic Force Compensation for the best weighing performance technology offers. In our opinion, this weighcell is the best design on the market today. See our youtube video - strain gauge loadcell vs. electromagnetic force sensor.
This patented weigh cell is cut from a single block of a special, highly rugged aluminum alloy using high-speed 21st century milling technology. The double lever principle offers two decisive advantages: the design in the area of the pan linkage is highly resistant to mechanical stress and therefore has exceptionally high mechanical stability, and the system allows for a smaller footprint. Cut from a single block of aluminum there are no screw fasteners needed between functional parts. This keeps the system less sensitive to fluctuations in temperature, and with fewer parts there is less chance of failure.
DLS offers unbeatable advantages for daily use like incredibly fast response time and unfailing reliability and near-zero susceptibility to interference. The reasons for these considerable advantages are two fold: the number of individual parts has been reduced by more than 70% and the mechanical construction has been designed to last for years of trouble-free operations.
Affordable milligram weighing with fast, stable and consistent weighing results without the inflated prices. The 320g x 1mg digital balance features a 3.3" diameter stainless steel weighing pan, removable circular 2 inch high glass draftshield with a stainless steel cover that offers a 1 inch diameter hole for lowering your specimen on the weighing pan.
Open the box & weigh. Easy to use & fast weighing is ready to work the moment you turn on the balance. No complicated manuals, no waiting for a technician to arrive and setup the balance since the manufacturer made the balances so only their technicians could setup and get the balance to work. Just plug-in, calibrate and you're ready to weigh.

Simple,
concise and gorgeous! Acculab designed the balance for simplicity
with a 5 button design and large LCD.
Eliminate
manual data entries and increase your efficiency by providing fast
error-free storage of your weighing data directly to a computer.
All Acculab ALC Balances come standard with RS-232 interface and
can be purchased with our optional USB
kit.
To
ensure consistent accuracy and tip-top performance the ALC balances
can be easily calibrated using the auto calibration function through
the keypad. Auto Calibration requires that you have the calibration
mass. These masses are optional accessories and we ALWAYS recommend that you purchase the calibration
mass so that you never need a scale company to service your
scale and charge you some outrageous price.
Acculab ALC Balance are designed uses either a Monolithic
Double Lever System or High Precision Strain Gauge Loadcells
(depending on model) so there are very few parts here. The
electronics incorporate custom designed integrated circuits resulting
in really nothing a local scale company can do to service a scale.
Basically, all they can do is come out with a bottle of Windex or
Fantastik and clean the exterior body of the scale, the interior
glass draftshield, and calibrate the scale. If there are ever
any other problems with the balance other than calibration then
it really can only be serviced by the manufacturer, Acculab in Arvada,
CO, since the motherboard consist of VLSI(very large scale integrated
circuits) and we know of very few scale service companies with a
digital logic analyzer, or the proper tools to remove and replace
surface mount fine pitch components. Typically the time to
resolve a board problem is best solved by just replacing the whole
board and we feel the manufacturer is best to make this decision.
All Acculab ALC Balances are made in the USA and backed with a 24
month manufacturer's warranty for parts and labor under normal use.
It looks like advances in weighing technology and the advent of
the internet as a distribution channel has made the local scale
company obsolete.
