Sartorius SE2-F is a new microbalance is specially modified for filter weighing.
The SE2-F balance allows users to measure particle emissions in diesel fuel
in accordance with 40 CFR 86.1312-2007. The balance features an optimized
low profile stainless steel draft shield which minimizes the effects of static
electricity during filter weighing. It comes standard-equipped to weigh
filters of up to 50mm diameter, with optional 75 and 90mm pan sizes also available.
SE2-F filter balance offers a full resolution from 0.1ug to 2.1g, meaning no further adaptations
are required to allow the balance to be used for this highly specialized application.
SE2F filter weighing balance is now being used by several of the world's leading automotive manufacturers,
where it has been adapted for use with the customer's own software programs
for data evaluation and storage. Emissions testing is important not only
in the automobile industry but also in the petrochemical and oil industries,
and the sartorius filter-weighing balance is just as well suited to these applications.
Moreover it can also be used in research and testing institutions in the field
of environmental technology, or indeed anywhere that the emissions produced
by combustion processes are closely scrutinized.

features the EUREKA® air buoyancy correction software, allowing true
mass measurement and compensation for fluctuations in air density. Built-in
software simplifies backweighing, and enable fast, error-free storage of tare
weights, initial sample weights and calculation of the amounts backweighed in
any order you choose for as many as 50 samples.
Installation is always best on the ground level on a concrete foundation since installing the micro-balance on upper floor levels are more prone to the possibility of floor vibrations due structural motion and pedestrian movements. If you can't install your microbalance on the ground level installing the micro balance in a corner outside wall is the next best location. Always try to stay away from the middle of the floor since this area bends the most. Also the higher floor levels the balance is located, the greater the building sway and even slight misalignment along the vertical to the center of the earth can introduce substantial weighing error.
A high precision microbalance should always be installed in a low traffic area. Due to the expense of the micro balance it should be in a restricted area to lessen the chance of unauthorized people from touching or using the microbalance.
Install a ultra-micro and micro balances in quiet, temperature and humidity controlled, draft-free location is of paramount importance. Finding a location in cleanroom can many times be challenging due to laminar air flow. So before even considering purchasing a high precision laboratory balance you should consider the area you want to install the microbalance since if your environment is not ideal you don't have a defective microbalance but a defective environment.
