Ohaus Pioneer Plus PA3202 precision scale weighs up to 3200 grams with 0.01 gram readability. The new Pioneer Plus Series balances combine the latest weigh sensor technology (MFR magnetic force restoration) housed in a solid metal base housing. Additional weighing applications include weighing, parts counting, percent weighing, density determination and dynamic weighing applications.
Ohaus Pioneer digital scales were designed for basic routine weighing in a variety of laboratory, industrial and education applications. With the right combination of performance and features, the Ohaus Pioneer offers uncomplicated performance for all your basic weighing needs.
Pioneer's compact design and small footprint allows the balance to easily fit into small areas of laboratory benches without overcrowding the workspace. The up-front level indicator is located right next to the display and allows the user to quickly make sure the balance is level prior to each use.
Ohaus Pioneer Plus is the economical choice for everyday weighing. Targeted for the educational market or any laboratory that does not need advanced weighing function and just needs a good balance that is simple to use and weighs accurately. Ohaus understands not everyone is looking for a fancy touch screen display and other bells and whistles found in the Ohaus Explorer Pro and Adventurer, but instead an affordable balance for basic weighing and the Pioneer Plus is the answer.
The Pioneer Plus PA3202 replaces the Ohaus Pioneer PA3102 and offers new features like a backlight display and built-in weigh below with density determination function allowing you to suspend an item below the balance to calculate specific gravity.
All Pioneer Plus Precision Balances are constructed with a metal base, ABS top housing, stainless steel pan, up-front level indicator security bracket, calibration lock, user selectable communication and printing settings, auto standby, mechanical and software overload protection and replaceable in-use cover.
Pioneer Plus Balances models use a magnetic force restoration weigh sensor, not a cheap strain gauge that is prone to drifting with the numbers on the display moving even though you added nothing to the weighing platform. We get so many calls from end users saying they purchased some no name brand made and they hate their balance since it is a strain gauge. If you don't understand then watch this video HERE demonstrating a magnetic force restoration balance verses strain gauge scale.
When the Ohaus PA3202 balance is first installed, or is moved to another location, the weighing balance must be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. The Ohaus PA3202 requires the purchase of a optional external 2kg calibration weight to perform calibration. We always recommend that you purchase the calibration weight when you purchase the digital balance. The new Ohaus Pioneer Pro Series features a red overlay keypad display and bright backlit LCD display provides ample lighting, making the display very easy-to-view in laboratories with dim lighting. The predecessor model, Ohaus PA3102, had a blue overlay and no backlight display. The spirit bubble is located to the right of the weighing display so you can verify at a quick glance that your balance is level for optimum accuracy. The Ohaus Pioneer Pro Series now features the "Density Determination" weigh function. These great new upgrades we believe will increase the demand even more for this basic entry level precision balance.
On the rear of the balance you'll find a built-in RS232 allows connection to an Ohaus SF40A impact printer or a computer. Sends Balance ID plus spaces for recording User ID, Project ID, time and date.
Integral security bracket allows you to secure your balance to a workstation to prevent unwarranted movement or theft
The 2 adjustable rear leveling feet level indicator helps to ensure that the Ohaus balance is level.

The Pioneer Pro balance is now equipped with a weigh below hook for weighing below the balance. To use this feature, remove power from the balance, then remove the protective cover for the weigh below opening. The balance can be supported using lab jacks or any other convenient method. Ensure the balance is level and secure. Power on the balance, then use a string or wire to attach items to be weighed. Below weighing is used for weighing magnetic materials, large samples that won't fix on the weighing platform or extremely hot or cold sample that would effect the balance's electronics if placed directly on the weighing platform due to thermal heat/cold transfer. Additional applications would be specific gravity determination.
An OPTIONAL PAD7 Auxiliary Display Kit for Pioneer is available. This secondary display can be useful in science and chemistry classroom setting allowing students to see the weight display without being direct over the balance looking at the display. This second display plugs into the RS-232 port on the rear of the balance.
Sartorius Secura Laboratory Balance offer advanced weighing features compliant with the USP minimum sample weight requirements. The balance's display indicates when the minimum sample weight is below the required minimum weight limit.
Secura guarantees high reliability and security in regulated areas for the most common weighing ranges. Quintix is convenience in operation, calibration and data transfer. Even Practum features weighing technology at the highest quality level.
Before you make your final decision be sure to see the Sartorius Entris2202-1S, Entris3202-1S, Entris4202-1S or Entris6202-1S precision balances. The Entris is made in Germany and production will soon be moved to Sartorius' manufacturing facility in Colorado. Watch the video above and see the superior eccentric loading characteristics of the Sartorius Entris Balances. Watch as a calibration weight is placed in the center and 4 quadrants on the platform and how the Sartorius Entris measures the weight accurately. Not all digital balances perform like this and if you own a laboratory balance you should test your balance by placing a weight in the center of the platform and then in the outer 4 corners and see how accurate your weighing instrument is performing. Nobody has more experience building balances than Sartorius. Sartorius begin building balances in 1871 and holds the Guinness Book of World Record for the most accurate balance in the world.
