We have no more JB2002-LGA but plenty of alternatives until we have the new JS2002G/A. We recommend you purchase the Sartorius GW6202 (not legal for trade) as an alternative since we have these in stock for immediate shipping and the GW6202 offers 6200g x 0.01g with internal calibration for a great price. If you need legal for trade we have the A&D FX2000iN and priced extremely low making it our lowest cost 2200 gram with readability to 0.01 grams, but A&D Weighing doesn't have all the features of the Mettler.

Mettler Toledo's JB2002-L-G/A electronic gram scale features 2100 grams maximum weighing capacity and increments in 0.01 gram divisions. This Mettler scale is legal for trade and offers a durable, die-cast aluminum construction and large weighing platform. Additional balance features include percent weighing and piece counting modes.

If you're a gold dealer selling gold by weight you can't compare the Sartorius GW6202 since it does not offer NTEP approval, a vital requirement in most states for jewelers selling gold by weight, Investigators from the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures spend several days every year at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, where they checked scales used by dealers who were selling items by weight. At the 2006 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show they confiscated 145 scales that were being used illegally because they did not conform to NTEP standards.

You can connect the Mettler Toledo JB2002 electronic balance to a computer via RS232 interface which is included. RS232 cables and software are sold separately.  Mettler JB-2002 balances from Mettler-Toledo weighs only in grams (2100 g x 0.1 g) when in NTEP mode.

JB2002-G/A-F digital balance from Mettler Toledo Corporation is improved. Instead of a round weighing pan, newer gem balances feature a larger square weighing pan.  We always sold more of the Mettler JB3002-G/A-F since this Mettler balances offers a 1000 gram more weighing capacity and still have a few remaining Mettler-Toledo JB3002-G/A-F HERE.

As the price of precious metals like gold, platinum, silver and rhodium keep raising customer complaints to weights and measures officials are on the increase.  The general public is calling complaining they are being short changed buying and selling by weight.  These complaints typically result in a Weights & Measures officials doing an inspection to verify the scale in use is Legal for Trade. Most pawnshops, jewelers and metals buyers know they need a Legal for Trade Type Approved Scale, but these inspectors are now requiring the weighing scale to have two displays to meet the requirements of "direct sales". In weights and measures terminology a direct sale is one where both the buyer and seller are present.  NIST Handbook 44 requires the customer to be able to witness the transaction and transaction information from a reasonable position in a direct sale application. Weight indications shall be shown on the customer’s side of the scale when used for direct sales to retail customers.  The way to achieve these requirements is to purchase the optional display shown above (purchase here).  The Mettler Toledo 72213564 remote display features a backlight.  The display plugs into the RS-232 port on the back of the balance and the cable length is 6 feet.  All Mettler JB balances are equipped with RS-232 interface. The Mettler Toledo JB and JL Scales we offer meet or exceed the Class II or III accuracy requirements in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbook 44.  Certificate of Conformance Numbers are issued under the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) of the National Conference on Weights and Measures.  NTEP approved Mettler Balances make it easy to comply with current regulations for the direct sales to the public of precious metals and semi-precious gems.
