The 402LB-CERT Beam Scale is Certifiable, but it is NOT Legal for Trade (LFT).  Health-O-Meter describes Certifiable as - "can be certified to hold a certain tolerance".  Legal for trade - means a weighing or measuring device has been approved for use in commercial (or trade) applications.  Precision Weighing Balances can't see how/why a consumer would want to pay extra money for a scale that is Certifiable when it really means nothing to us.  If the scale was Legal For Trade then we could understand paying extra.  For example a Diet Center that gets paid by the weight lost by the client is suppose to have a Legal For Trade Scale to be in compliance of the law.
