Before you decide to purchase a Sartorius CPA1003P milligram balance we suggest you review the Sartorius ED623S. Sartorius CPA1003P milligram balance are dual range, only weighing up to 500 g x 1 mg.  Anything weighing over 500 grams will increment by 0.01 gram, not milligrams.  The ED623S will not only save you hundreds of dollars, but it also weighs 620 g x 0.001 g.  Unless you require a dual range balance for your weighing applications, we feel the ED623S is the better value.

Sartorius ED623S Mg balances feature external calibration, unlike the CPA1003P which offers internal calibration.  At Precision Weighing Balances, we feel internal calibration is a nice feature, but it gives end users a false sense of security regarding the calibration of their balance.  External calibration is more affordable and is truly the only way to properly calibrate a balance.  Learn more about the benefits of external calibration here!
