Sartorius ED3202S-CWN legal for trade, NTEP approved class 2 digital scale offers 3200g with 0.01 gram readability and motorized internal calibration making it simply a press of the button to calibrate the balance.
A new market we are seeing Legal for Trade scales is the legalized cannabis marketplace in Portland, Oregon and Denver, Colorado. These Cannabis Cafes dispense pot to certified medical marijuana users and sell the herbal medicine for about $20 a gram. Since the medicine is sold by weight the local government officials typically require these Cannabis Cafes to have a Type Approved Class 2 legal for trade scale to open their store and the Sartorius ED3202S-CWN meets those requirements.
Medical marijuana dispensary in Colorado were sent letters from the Colorado Department of Agriculture Weights and Measures that the use of a scale to determine the weight of the medical marijuana they are selling must be weighed on a Legal for Trade NTEP approved scale. CDA also stated in a memo that whenever a dispensary intends to sell quantities of medical marijuana of less than 1 ounce, the only device type appropriate to render an accurate weight is an NTEP Class I or Class II scale. Furthermore, any digital scale placed in-service by you, regardless of either aforementioned class, must have a scale division of 0.01 gram or less.
For all those medical marijuana centers thinking in the future of implementing a Point of Sale / Inventory Control Software be careful of the vendor you choose and make sure their software is written to communicate with a Sartorius RS-232 protocol. If the software company is telling you must buy scale from them we would recommend you find another software company. If they are a software company they should make the money on the software and not overcharging you for the balance. We have also heard rumors that the state is going to implement their own point of scale software similar to pharmacy benefit management so they can tax every spec of herbal medicine. Therefore, you may be better off waiting on buying any software until you see what the state is going to do. The head of the treasury and department of revenue are probably going to roll out new requirements so they can generate more revenue.

Extend ED3202S-CWN is a legal for trade, class 2 digital scale. Sartorius ED3202S-CWN complies with Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) requirements for grain test scales.
For use as a Class II balance in general purpose weighing, direct sale of precious metals and/or gems (e.g. Jewelry Scale), GIPSA grain test scale and prescription counting.
To meet the sealing requirement of NTEP a pressure sensitive, tamper evident seal is placed over the covered hole on the rear of the balance. This restricts access to calibration and configuration parameters. A second pressure sensitive, tamper evident seal is placed over the seam where the case separates on the rear of the balance.
The prescription counting program enables you to
determine the number of parts that each
have approximately equal weight. To do
this, a known number of parts (the reference
sample quantity) is weighed first,
and the individual piece weight (reference
weight) is calculated from this result.
Thus, the number of parts subsequently
placed on the balance can be determined
from their weight.
The counting feature will only accept a minimum reference count of 10. The minimum weight to establish a sample is 30e. Since the ED3202S-CWN "e" is 0.01g the minimum sample weight is 0.3g (0.01g x 30 = 0.3g)
