We are sold out of all the USED PS60 with stainless steel platters. We do have plenty of USED PS60 with the ABS platter with USB $149.95 or with RS232 for $119.95. The information below is for reference only since again we do not have anymore USED PS60's with the stainless steel platter.
This is truly a great buy. We have USED Mettler Toledo PS60 UPS and FedEX compatible shipping scale with the USB interface for an earth shattering price. If you are using UPS Worldship and wanted a scale that sends the weight on the weighing platform automatically into UPS Worldship this USED PS60 can do it. You can eliminate the chances of entering the weight wrong and then later getting slammed with those horrible and expense adjustment charges that UPS assesses to your bill for incorrectly reporting the wrong shipping weight. The USB interface makes it so easy verses dealing with connecting a scale using the RS-232 port.
When you purchase a USED Mettler PS60 with stainless steel platform we supply you with the AC Adapter and 10 foot USB cable. Simply power up your computer, take the scale out of the box, connect the USB cable from the scale to the computer's USB port. Since you are using a USB connection the scale will be powered from your computer through the USB cable. We supply you with the AC Adapter in case you are using the scale as a stand alone scale or when your scale is not powered up.
Once you have the scale connected to the computer open UPS Worldship. Go to the "Tools" tab, select "System Preferences Editor". In the System Preferences Editor window select the "Hardware' tab.
Now select "USB" for "Scale port", select "Toledo PS60" for "Scale type", then press the 'Test Scale" icon and your done. It takes less than 2 minutes to set the scale up and if it does sound confusing don't worry you can call UPS help desk at 888-553-1118 and they can walk you through it. Mettler Toledo also has a dedicated department just to support the Mettler PS60 by calling 800-786-0812.
Although I talk a lot about using the PS60 with UPS but Mettler PS60 also works with FedEX shipping manifest systems.
If you want to save a little money we also have USED PS60 with ABS platter for $149.95. We calibrate every used PS60 to be 100% sure every used PS60 worked perfectly fine prior to leaving our facility. These used scales are in good shape and should offer many, many years of accurate weighing. Although the PS60 was designed as a shipping scale other people have purchased the scale as an affordable legal for trade scale for many different weighing applications. Laundry mats are constantly getting caught using scales that are not NTEP Approved.
If you charge a "price per pound" service for wash and dry, flat work, dry cleaning and other services the scale must be legal for trade NTEP approved. When the city weights and measures official comes in and writes a citation many store owners call us to get the right scale. Due to the poor economy everyone is trying to spend the least amount of money for a legal for trade class III scale and many buy these USED PS60.
Simply place a laundry basket on the scale, press the tare button to subtract the weight of the laundry basket and now throw the clothes in the laundry basket and the scale shows the weight of the clothes only. Now just use a calculate and multiple the weight time the price per pound you charge to clean cloths.
Another uses people have found for the USED PS60 Mettler Scale would be to weigh produce. The picture above is a watermelon weighing in at 15.00 lbs. You could be weighing tomatoes, pumpkins, potatoes, squash and more and sell produce by the pound. We have even sold a few PS60 for people even weighing lobsters.
Please note the scale does not run off of batteries if you were planning to use the scale as a stand alone unit and direct AC power was not available you will have to think out of the box. Since the PS60 has a USB interface and can have your laptop power the scale through the USB cable so you don't need to plug the AC adapter in the wall. Problem here is typically laptop power doesn't last too long.
Other people have purchased Cigarette lighter plug/ Car charger adapter for USB A cable and instead of plugging the USB cable to a computer they plug the end of the USB cable to the Cigarette lighter plug/ Car charger adapter to power the scale. Since the USB cable we supply you is 10 feet you could operate the PS60 out of the back of your pickup truck. This is only an idea and if you decide to use the scale this way you need to buy this car charge adapter on your own.
The point we want to stress is the PS60 does not have a battery compartment that allows you to run the scale if you don't have a power receptacle.
These USED PS60 Scales have the choice of connecting the scale to a USB type A port or 9 pin serial RS-232 port. Since almost every computer produced in the last 2 years only comes with USB I/O ports there would be very few people that would connect the scale using RS-232 interface. Another reason for connecting the scale to an USB port verses a RS-232 port other than being easier (no drivers to load) would be the USB connection will power the scale through the computer. If you use the RS-232 connection then you must power the scale using the AC Adapter.
Therefore very, very few people will really want to purchase this USED RJ-45 to DB9 cable, but if you are going to connect to an RS-232 port then you need to buy it.
Please note if you were buying a BRAND New PS60 which we do sell HERE for a lot more money it would come with this RJ-45 to DB9 cable. Since we bought several hundred USED PS60s and only a few scales came with this RJ-45 to DB9 cable we decided to sell it as an option. Finally since 99% of the people are either using the scale either as a stand alone or connected to a USB port we decided not providing the RJ-45 to DB9 cable would result in a lot less phone calling asking us what is the cable for. So if you need the RJ-45 to DB9 cable buy it below for $9.95.
